
We currently offer four accredited training courses. These are approved and quality-assured by the Open College Network London Region under license from the National Open College Network (NOCN) - the leading credit-based awarding body in the UK. Our accredited training is provided through our NOCN-recognised learning centre, the Southover Partnership. Learners on these courses courses gain evidence of their achievement in the form of credits – nationally agreed measures of the amount and level of learning achieved. The accredited courses can be commissioned by any organisation providing care for people with dementia and delivered at a venue of your choice. To read more detail, click on each title.
Dementia
Care Trainers' Programme
- level 3
This accredited course equips participants to become in-house Dementia Trainers within their own care settings. The course consists of two modules: 'Advanced Person-Centred Dementia Care Knowledge and Practice' and 'Person-Centred Dementia Care Training Skills'.
Dementia Care Leadership Programme – level 3
This accredited course is aimed at managers, deputy managers and team leaders in any service providing care for people with dementia.
Practical in its focus, the course addresses a variety of management skills and issues affecting the way dementia care is delivered.
Person-Centred Dementia Care Knowledge and Practice - level 2
This accredited course has been specially designed for front-line care workers and involves 4 training days, which incorporate support and assessment. Written work is kept to a minimum. The course addresses the whole of the Skills for Care 'Knowledge Set for Dementia'.
